Is this product used with the Gaggia Classic? How is it different than the Gaggia Decalcifier solution?

techkathy The cleaning tablets are meant to be used in a super automatic machine with an automatic cleaning cycle. The Gaggia Classic is a semi automatic machine and does not have any automated cleaning cycles.
Can someone please clarify in detail the purpose of this product and how it is used? Is it in addition to descaling and done separately? Do not cut and paste what is already in the vague features text. I already read that. Thanks.

A A Jeff,
These tablets are designed to supplement the descaling of your machine. If you maintain a good schedule with descaling, you actually shouldn't need these.
The maintenance section in the manual for my Gaggia Platinum Swing unit says to insert a tablet into the pre-ground coffee door to clean the Brew Unit. This is in addition to the descaling section in the manual. Can you verify that these are the tablets we're supposed to use?

How does this product compare to the Gaggia Decalcifier solution?
Is this product 1 tablet per descaling? I have a Gaggia Baby Twin, and I'm wondering which will work better for me!

mjackson ♦ Maggi,
You will want to use the Gaggia Decalcifier solution. It is the correct product and also very easy to use.
techkathy The Gaggia Platinum Vision does not have a user serviceable grinder. The best thing to do is get a really dry coffee bean and run it through the grinder on a coarse setting. It will help clean out any deposited oils or old coffee in the grinder.
