Nesco Coffee Bean Roaster

Does the catalytic converter filter that reduces/eliminates the smoke have to be replaced or cleaned after a while?

Can beans be re-roasted? I prefer a dark roast and sometimes experiment and choose a coffee that is too light for my taste.
