Features & Benefits: Coffee
High Quality Controls with Brew Ready and Steam Ready Lights
The Via Venezia’s control panel features only three buttons – an on/off button, a brew button and a steam button. The brew and steam buttons are on the left, and both have “ready” indictor lights. Simply turn on your machine on – the on/off button is on the right – and wait for the brew ready light. If you would like hot, frothy milk for cappuccinos or lattes, or even just hot water for tea, press the steam button, which has a steam cloud icon. Making perfect espresso drinks has never been easier!
Brewing on the Saeco Via Venezia
Just turn your machine on and wait for the brew button light to illuminate. Saeco recommends preheating your portafilter before brewing by pulling a “blank shot,” or letting hot water run through the empty portafilter. Next, add grounds or pods to your portafilter, and press the brew button. Espresso will begin dispensing – once you have your desired amount, press the brew button again to stop the flow of coffee.
Crafted for safety and durability, the Via Venezia contains a food safe stainless steel boiler and heating element. Stainless steel resists corrosion and retains heat well, and a built in thermostat fuse ensures perfect water temperature and safe heating conditions. A simple decalcification process is recommended ever every two to three months to further protect the life span of the boiler and other internal brewing components.
A great tasting espresso and rich crema depend largely on the pressure in the brewing chamber. With commercial portafilters, the user is responsible for creating a precise brewing pressure, using the grind setting, tamp and water pressure. With Saeco’s patented pressurized portafilter, the guesswork is all done for you. When brewing, the filter holder is sealed thanks to a spring-loaded valve, and remains sealed until the pressure in the brewing chamber has reached its ideal point. This takes only a moment before the valve opens and your Via Venezia releases a perfect cup of espresso.
ESE Pod Adaptor
Espresso pods are quickly become a popular way to make quick, consistent espresso drinks. These pods are single servings of pre-ground and tamped espresso, cutting down on any mess or the need to buy a grinder. The Via Venezia comes with a pod adaptor for your portafilter, and a specially created filter basket that works especially for pod use.
Cup temperature is very important when making espresso, because it prevents the espresso from losing heat too rapidly. The Via Venezia features a cup holder that safely keeps up to 6 espresso cups warm using residual heat from the stainless steel boiler.
Housing and Construction
The Saeco Via Venezia is compact and attractive in black metal housing, with a sturdy, removable and easy to clean drip tray. A pull out storage drawer fits your portafilter and filter baskets for handy storage without taking up too much counter space.
Features & Benefits: Frothing and Hot Water
Pannarello Frothing Wand
Concerned about your milk frothing techniques? The Via Venezia’s Pannarello wand attachment makes it easy. Get perfect froth for a cappuccino and steamed milk for a latte every time by pressing the steam button once the Via Venezia has heated to brewing temperature. Once the steam button and brew button indicator lights illuminate, the machine is at steaming temperature, so all you need to do is open the steam knob to begin texturing your milk. Remember to wipe down the wand with a damp cloth when you’re finished.
Hot Water Dispenser
Ready for tea, hot chocolate, or even an Americano? The Via Venezia dispenses hot water whenever you need it. Just hit the brew button, wait for the brew ready light and open the steam knob. Hot water will stream out of the frothing wand – just turn the knob counter clockwise to close it.
Features & Benefits: Care, Maintenance, and Other
The durable plastic reservoir holds 68 oz of water, and is transparent, so you always know how much water you have left. It is easily removed from the side or even refilled from the top of your machine for an endless supply of coffee or steam. We recommend refilling and rinsing it daily to keep your coffee tasting fresh.
Cleaning and Maintaining Your Via Venezia
To keep your steam wand free of coffee residue, Saeco recommends taking apart the wand apart once a week and cleaning it with fresh water, then reassembling it. Remember to empty and clean the drip tray daily, and the machine housing can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Your portafilter should be removed and cleaned with hot water to keep it free of coffee grounds. You can use the included scraper to remove coffee residue from the brew group gasket.
The Via Venezia comes with a ground coffee measuring scoop, ground coffee filter holder, pressurized portafilter, pod filter adapter, pod filter, coffee grounds scraper, detailed instruction manual, and one-year extended warranty.
Hi, where can I find a non-pressurized portafilter for the Via Venezia. I don't see it on your site.
Right now, we do not have a non-pressurized portafilter available for purchase. Your best alternative would be to purchase a spare Standard (pressurized) portafilter and modify it by removing the pressurization valve. This would produce the results you're looking for while potentially costing less than a buying a "special" portafilter.
After just 8 months of use my Saeco Via Venezia just stopped working. The lights come on but the the water does not seem to boil. I read that there was a thermostat reset switch located on the inside but have not been successful at finding it. Any information would be appreciated.
I would recommend contacting Saeco USA at 1-800-933-7876. They will have specific instructions on resetting or replacing the thermostat or fuse.
