Robert Duncan What home espresso equipment would you recommend to someone who has been enjoying a Rancilio Sylvia & Rocky for several years? I added a PID to the Sylvia and it is delivering good (not great) results, but I wonder if there are much better results available. I've worked on improving the beans (Novo, local roaster) and personal skill (expert training), and wonder if there's a big advantage to newer equipment. Robert (Denver)

Tho Nguyen Definitely check out the Expobar and Rocket Espresso machines! They are prosumer units that will really let you fine-tune extraction for great shots. With these types of machines, you're also going to get excellent heat stability. Some of the models can even be plumbed.

Randy Orlando Hi Rob, I would recommend that you look at the Expobar Brewtus IIIV. This machine has a double boiler with a built in PID temperature control. I really love using this machine and can do latte art with it. If you want to call me you can reach me at 1-888-411-5282 EXT 5153 and I can explain all the features that this machine has to offer. Mari Wilson When purchasing a nespresso 'system', would you cast your vote for a CitiZ combo or purchase leCube D135, C135 and a Aerocinno separately. And what is the difference between C135 and D135, anyway. I have owned a Rancilio Sylva that I bought from you in 2005 and it is still going strong. Great machines!

Tho Nguyen Hi Mari, thanks for posting. Is it my imagination or do I remember you from our Facebook page? To answer your question, the main difference between the CitiZ and Le Cube is the design. The difference between the C185 and D185 is also mainly cosmetic. I’d recommend getting a machine & Aeroccino Plus pack, regardless of whether you end up ordering the C185 or CitiZ because it will save you some money, compared to ordering the items separately

Tho Nguyen I, personally, would go for the CitiZ & Aeroccino Plus pack because of the design & the nice base that helps to safeguard countertops; it also comes with a $50 credit if you order before 6/30/10. But your choice should boil down to personal preference. Are you looking to replace the Silvia or just add a single-serve option to your home?
