Gaggia MDF Coffee Grinder
Gaggia MDF Coffee Grinder

I purchased this with my Gaggia New Baby- It's very solid and does a good job. I'm not so thrilled with the dosing compartments: I only grind as much as I need, for double shot in morning, and sometimes doesn't fill all the way. That plastic guard gets in the way of seeing how much coffee comes...

Gaggia New Baby Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine
Gaggia New Baby Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine

I really love this machine. Entry level for a beginner like me but makes fabulous coffee. Once it arrived it only took about 4 or 5 times to pull a perfect shot. Simple directions and great info on web on how to brew perfect espresso. Only complaint is that the steam wand is a bit short- even when...

Espro Calibrated Convex Espresso Tamper
Espro Calibrated Convex Espresso Tamper

I purchased this shortly after I received my Gaggia New Baby. It is really a great way to be sure you use consistent pressure each time- always pull a great shot. Easy to use, sits well in your hand.

I LOVE this pitcher. Purchased the 12 ounce and it really works well. Keeping steam wand in center really does make that little whirlpool for great micro foam, no large bubbles. No need to sketch top of milk to get smaller bubbles started- just insert wand and go...

Nannuraluk asked a question...
at 01-18-2013 11:09pm

question about the gaggia mdf grinder- having trouble with the doser. seems that it doesn't seem to fill properly and takes more than two pulls on handle- no matter what i seem to do, grinds get onto the counter. i've tried grinding as i go along (since i only want to grind for what i use at time) and having portafilter below - that seems to work. any advice would be appreciated- thanks

A A Any doser grinder is rated to dose out "x" amount of grinds per pull based on the dosing compartment being full. Most people aren't going to be grinding enough coffee at a time to fill that whole compartment, which is completely fine. When I use a doser grinder, I let it grind for a few seconds, pull the lever, and then pull it every few seconds until I get the amount I need.

Have a question- just got Gaggia New Baby Espresso- when draw water out seems to seep out the sides all over counter. When drawing shots, using double basket, lots of splatter all over counter- using MDF Burr Grind of 6- ordered a better tamper but any help on stopping the side splatter is MOST appreciated

David Batson If you are using the double bottom pressurized basket in your portafilter, make sure you have the little black pin installed in the portafilter underneath the basket - otherwise you will get a mess. If you don't have the black pin, use the single bottom filter basket.

Craig Clark Is the water comming out from where the double basket comes in contact with the rubber gasket on the group head? Have you looked to make sure there is no coffee, or anything else on the group gasket?
