techkathy The unit comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty which covers parts and labor.
Hi Michael, thank you for responding, I have not changed any of the settings in the grinder,I use a Gaggia MD and I have kept it at 4 after playing with it when I bought. I am using a new batch of the same coffee I have used for about a year now-Del Canto decaf espresso sold at Whole Foods-;even when I use Illy -the same can as before- I notice the difference; it seems the brewing is too fast, much more quantity for the same time. Could the grinder be out of calibration?

Hello! I'ma having a little bit of trouble with my Gaggia Classic. For the last couple of weeks I've noticed that the quality of expressos I'm making have declined, the crema is is almost non-existent and the flavor is flat; also, the amount of coffee I'm obtaining in the same amount of brewing time is about 50 to 60% larger. I have not changed anything in the way I prepare the expresso, any suggestions?. My expresso maker is less than two years old

I've enjoyed my Gaggia Classic for almost 2 years now, the quality of the espressos is amazing, I haven't stepped into StarBuck or any of those chains ever again; however, this espresso maker can't handle very well switching back and forth from brewing to frothing, and actually, frothing is rather slow(too much temperature fluctuation )Can any one point to a machine that produces amazing espressos , is very stable and can handle a higher volume demand for under $1900?

How long can you have it on? I ususlly like to have a cup early in the morning and then wait for about 1.5 hrs and prepare a second. Is it ok to have the "Classic" on for that period of time?

TechMilanoItalia Carlos, it is not recommended to have the Classic on for that long. As it only takes a few minutes to heat to full temperature, it is usually recommended that you only leave the machine on for maybe 30 minutes if you plan to make another espresso soon. This will also tend to increase the longevity of the components. Enjoy! =
ToddS It is fine to leave the Classic on for 1.5 hours or even longer. Just make sure the boiler is full by turning on the pump and running a couple of ounces of water out of the steam wand. This will top off the boiler. Leave the empty portafilter in the brew group while it is sitting idle to keep it hot for your next espresso. Thanks for asking and come back anytime!!
techkathy It does have a removable bean hopper. But there ate 3 screws that hold the hopper in place. The hopper is also open at the bottom. If the hopper were removed and still had beans inside they would spill out of the open bottom of the hopper. Other grinders (Mazzer, Ceado, etc) do have a hopper designed to be removed easily to switch beans.
