Review
I've read that a common problem with flat burr grinders is that not all the grounds exit the chute. This grinder retains so much in the chute, it is the primary reason I sold it on e-bay and will get a Rancilio Rocky. I grind just one cup at a time by hand grinding(thermo-blok, with pressurized portafilter type espresso machine) frequently but just for me. Sometimes I grind for a small Vacuum brewer. Cleaning-up the Kitchen-Aid grinder afterwards is a pain. The Rancilio Rocky (I've read) has a minimal amount of cleaning, especially the chute. It is twice as expensive but half the size and more user friendly.
The complaint about the Kitchen-Aid's flimsy glass grind catcher is accurate but the way the grounds drop from the front allows the use of any wide receiver. I use a glass 1-cup measuring cup and put the flimsy one away. Now I need $369 for the doserless Rocky from Italy.
