This is my second Krups machine. I have owned this machine for just shy of one year.I make two lattes four to five days a week. The machine makes a good espresso shot and froths well. However, the wand is the weak point. I am on a replacement wand and it recently started a familiar pattern, either the wand shoots off or the joint it attaches to leaks steam. II am moving on and switching brands. ... read more

I've owned a couple of Gaggia Classic machines previously and the New Baby offers the same internals (pump, boiler, group head, steam valve) as the Classic at a lower price. If you're into gimmicks like timers, automatic settings etc. this is not the machine for you... but if you want to produce rich, strong espresso with great crema and silky smooth milk then the New Baby is everything you need.

I bought this machine 2 years ago and this thing works great for the price.
My drinkof choice is the carmel machiato and I estimate that I have been the household barista of over 2,000 shots using this Ec702.
I am going to buy another one. I would say that this thing would probably still be working properly but I neglected to descale the unit, and now have lime build up which has restricted the ... read more

In my opinion the em 200 is absolute garbage! The pump on the first one I owned stopped making enough pressure after about six weeks. The second one I owned failed to make enough pressure right out of the box. STAY AWAY FROM CUISINART!! ... read more

Just a little background: I've been into espresso for a little over three years now. I've owned the Rancilio Silvia, Gaggia Classic, Pasquini Livia 90, and the list goes on. This machine was my first purchase, for $80 used on ebay. Compared to all the other machines I own and have used, this pulls the best shots hand down. I don't know why, but I could use the same exact beans / grinder and ge ... read more

Overall, a well built upgrade to my first espresso machine, a Mr. Coffee ECMP50. If you make the transition from a pressurized, small diameter portafilter to that of a 58mm, commercial non-pressurized unit, be prepared to work for a good shot initially. After you get an idea for how the tamp pressure ought to feel and you dial in your grind size, this is a fantastic starter or initial upgrade fr ... read more

We bought this machine in the Spring of 2008. It is extremely durable. While it certainly isn't smart, I have used and abused this machine. I use it every morning. It has never been descaled. I only use tap water and I have accidentally left it on all day several times.
Using the machine does take some expiramentation. I have to use very finely ground coffee, such as pre-ground Lavazza to get ... read more

Overall the machine came in like new condition. Could only find on small cosmetic blemish on the portability handle. Extremely minor. Pulled around 30-40 shots with no issues. Only came with three pressurized portafilter baskets. No standard non-pressurized filter basket included. Packaging was excellent (non-retail) brown box. Shipping was fast even with free ground (i'm on eastern side of United ... read more

Refurbished unit had several minor cosmetic imperfections. It was complete (except for double wall filter) and functioned perfectly. I use an Espro 58mm convex calibrated tamper as I moved up from Breville double walled filter products where tamping pressure doesn't matter. The espresso tasted better than with Breville, presumably due to more even extraction due to the wider filter. Baby seems ... read more
