I used a Rancilio S24 for a decade. It was a great and reliable machine, but I eventually wanted to step up and bought an Alex Duetto II. When the Alex worked, it was good but not great. But it rarely worked. After two years and multiple services, I gave up on a machine that had multiple leaks and produced terrible wet steam. I was looking at the Rocket R58 V2, but an espresso machine tech to ... read more

We have had our Duetto III for 8 months now and love it. It makes delicious coffee, is easy to clean and looks beautiful. We are sad when we go on vacation because we miss our tasty coffee so much! We removed the plastic from the steaming wand for better frothing and plumbed it in. ... read more

I've had this machine for about 18 months now. I previously had a Gaggia, but was spoiled by the Rocket E60 that I used at work. I researched the hell out of it and found the ECM to be better constructed, had better value, and looked much nicer (IMO).
The little details on this machine speak to the quality and attention to detail. The portafilter holders, joystick handles, ECM ... read more

Prior to this machine I owned the Rocket Cellini V2. The Evoluzione is about $400 more expensive, but it's worth the difference.
The Rocket Professional is a good machine. It looks identical to the Evoluzione, except the Evoluzione uses black gauges instead of white. Both have a drip tray that needs emptying about every 3 or 4 espressos. It's too small, but this is a non-commercial machine, ... read more

The Expobar Brutus IV-R, wow, what a beautiful machine. My Brutus displaced an Expobar Pulsar. I didn’t think the difference would be so great given the similar design. The Brutus is exponentially better in all the right places. Let’s take them one at a time.
The Brutus has acres of chrome. This machine shines from top to bottom. The only black plastic is on the lever and the knobs f ... read more

OK, let me start by saying that this is all my brother's fault. He owns a string of coffee stores, and when I bought a super automatic machine to make great coffee at home, he told me I would be disappointed, and he was right. He told me to stop wasting money on bells and whistles and buy an espresso machine for the boiler and to be sure to buy an Italian boiler. Period. Just that. He said th ... read more

I've used a Giaggia with a bras boiler for over 25 years with no issues except that the warm up time between espresso & cappuccino was not great. Only parts I replaced ever were the gasket once and the steam knob. Still works fine and makes good espresso & cappuccino so I gave it to my friend as his first espresso maker. As much as I enjoyed the Gaggia, there is no comparison between the semi- ... read more
