I've been using this machine for over 5 years now. It is simply spectacular in it's ability to produce such a consistent grind, and with the preset dosing, you can really dial it in...
With this grinder, your favorite roast and a simple Rancilio Silvia, you can rival anyone's brew, anywhere. Perfection starts with the front of the production line - you can't brew a better cup than what your g ... read more

3 years of use, this thing is rock solid. The adjustment mechanisms are effective and easy to use. The grind dose is controlled by internal timers easily adjusted with a small screwdriver on the front of the machine. The grind shoots directly through the dispenser into your filter basket with no place for grinds to collect and stale. The grind is initiated by pushing the button on the front of the ... read more

When I ordered this machine, it sounded like it would be perfect for us. However, I ended up returning it because it was expensive and did not fit our needs perfectly (at this price, it should as I could only justify the expense when "amortized" over its useful life).
The doser, to work as described, needs to have quite a bit of grounds within the dosing unit. This means that grounds hang around ... read more

The machine does have a great range of grinds. However, it is way overpriced for what it is (unless you're a connoisseur of stainless steel industrial sculpture). Here are my issues:

It's easy: just put lots of beans in the top, run the thing until the grounds bin is half-full, stop it and dose out some grounds.
Once you get the grind setting right (I like about 10 or so, play around with it but skip the 20 and the 5 settings for espresso). And by the way, please take the time to correct anyone you know who says "expresso", it's not being snobbish, it's just up to each of us ... read more

I am very impressed with this grinder particulary with regard to its ease of use and functionality. I use it for both espresso and french press and it is very easy to switch between settings - unlike some other grinders. The design is sleek and looks good on a countertop. ... read more

I have had this MACAP Stepped doserless grinder for almost 2 years and it performs consistently. It is solid and has a nice step ring that allows you to gently adjust the grind depending on the coffee.
The grind adjustment is superb and can be so fine that my machine (previously a Quickmill Alexia) could not cope with the fineness. ... read more

Great grinder, very adjustable. Grinds much faster, and is much less noisy, than my old grinder. There is a little play in the grind fineness adjustment mechanism, but it does not affect the grind itself. Also retains some grinds in the exit chute. ... read more
