Excellent grind quality. The step less adjustment allows very precise grind settings. If your grinder does not have a silver knob for tightening the hopper but only a screw, that is how they come now. ... read more

I have owned a doserless Rocky grinder for about four years, and find that it works with few quirks other than the jamming problem mentioned by Nate. I used to keep a chopstick handy to deal with these types of jams, which would occur about once a wee ... read more

Our Rocky Doserless keeps on delivering a fine product. To maintain maximum bean freshness we fill the hopper just enough for the current shots (in addition to that which you cannot see in the grinder itself). To catch the excess grind (we have an earlier model with a flat lip) we keep a small square sided bowl underneath the portafilter. The spill-over is a minor inconvenience, one we accept t ... read more

I have had this grinder for over a year. As other reviewers have commented, it does not do well for coarse ground coffee. It won't even go all the way to the most coarse setting. IMO it works best for espresso.
If the bean is roasted to FC, right before second crack or no more than 5 seconds into second crack, the grinder works pretty well. Most of the grind gets into the portafilter. However, ... read more

I bought this unit with expectations that with its price and Italian origin it would last nearly a lifetime. It was nice while it lasted but unfortunately a rock got caught in the works. The interior parts are made of plastic, and replacement parts are no longer available. I am now the proud owner of a nearly $300 paperweight. ... read more

My Gaggia MDF is brand new, but I can already see that it's exactly what I wanted. I've ground three different types of beans, and I'm getting a good consistent grind down in the espresso range, from 5 thru 7. This weekend we (the wife and I) will probably do a pot of Turkish, and maybe some press-pot coffee, so I'll have the opportunity to test the grind at both ends of the grind range. After years of grinding coffee with a less than superior (over priced) grinder, a friend introduced me to this wonderful work of art. I wanted a grinder that could make my espresso as smooth as silk and I found it in this jewel! With so many settings, I love that you can get the perfect grind, no matter your preference of drink. And the grounds are perfectly consistent. The grinder is quiet runn ... read more

Have used this grinder daily for 6 years. No mechanical problems, a very durable unit.
Will not grind to espresso fineness easily, but, will grind your drip coffee effortlessly, and
with practice ( you need to keep time yourself) will grind consistently.
I would buy this grinder again...... but am not needing another utility grinder because this
one STILL works great. ... read more

Not bad for a Chinese made product. The problem I've encountured with the grinder is that it overheats rapidily. I detect an odor like an electrical burning after several seconds of use. ... read more
