Nate Simmons wrote: "...the Rancilio Rocky - it constantly requires us to shake the machine or take the top off and force beans into the grinder." I have owned a doserless Rocky grinder for about four years, and find that it works with few quirks other than the jamming problem mentioned by Nate. I used to keep a chopstick handy to deal with these types of jams, which would occur about once a wee ... read more

Rancilio Rocky Doserless Coffee Grinder

Our Rocky Doserless keeps on delivering a fine product. To maintain maximum bean freshness we fill the hopper just enough for the current shots (in addition to that which you cannot see in the grinder itself). To catch the excess grind (we have an earlier model with a flat lip) we keep a small square sided bowl underneath the portafilter. The spill-over is a minor inconvenience, one we accept t ... read more

Pasquini Lux Coffee Grinder

I have had this grinder for over a year. As other reviewers have commented, it does not do well for coarse ground coffee. It won't even go all the way to the most coarse setting. IMO it works best for espresso. If the bean is roasted to FC, right before second crack or no more than 5 seconds into second crack, the grinder works pretty well. Most of the grind gets into the portafilter. However,  ... read more

Baratza Virtuoso Preciso Coffee Grinder from www.wholelattelove.com

Baratza Virtuoso Preciso
$299.00

Review Date - 03/19/2014
I love this grinder. It's just me making a cap or two a day, but it grinds to nth degree perfectly. It's easy to use, easy to clean and very easy to operate. I think this is a bargain when it comes to burr grinders. I've used this little grinder everyday for the last 4 years. Glad the folks at WLL recommended it to pair with my Expobar Lever! ... read more

I bought this unit with expectations that with its price and Italian origin it would last nearly a lifetime. It was nice while it lasted but unfortunately a rock got caught in the works. The interior parts are made of plastic, and replacement parts are no longer available. I am now the proud owner of a nearly $300 paperweight. ... read more

Baratza Virtuoso Coffee Grinder - Preciso Burrs
$229.00

Review Date - 01/05/2013
I bought this grinder for use with a Gaggia Baby Twin. We happen to have the Preciso grinder at work. I don't miss having the finer grind control of the Preciso at all and the burrs are the same quality. Its very consistent in its grind. My only concern is I have to adjust this to pretty much the finest or one click short of the finest setting to not get too coarse a grind for the Gaggia. Com ... read more

Gaggia MDF Coffee Grinder from www.wholelattelove.com

Gaggia MDF
$199.00

Review Date - 07/31/2014
My Gaggia MDF is brand new, but I can already see that it's exactly what I wanted. I've ground three different types of beans, and I'm getting a good consistent grind down in the espresso range, from 5 thru 7. This weekend we (the wife and I) will probably do a pot of Turkish, and maybe some press-pot coffee, so I'll have the opportunity to test the grind at both ends of the grind range. Review Date - 11/12/2013
This grinder has been used multiple times daily for pour over grinds and french press for almost a year now. Quiet, stable and reliable. But I am unable to dial in a setting for espresso in my Gaggia Classic. Yes, I know I could use the pressurized basket but really, who wants to clean out soupy coffee instead of a pod? ... read more
