To brew a delicious cup, add one rounded tablespoon of coarsely ground coffee to the pot for every 4 ounces of water. Are the cups mentioned, expresso cups or regular coffee cup measurement?

Michael Rosso ♦ James...Thank you for your great question. You would brew regular coffee in a French Press pot, so the cups would be coffee and not espresso. It is based on the European volumes of one cups is 5.5 ounces. Thanks.

mjackson ♦ This is a great french press you may also want to look at the Freiling french press as well. http://www.wholelattelove.com/Frieling/fr_french_press.cfm. It will make a difference in keeping coffee warm if it is insulated.

does this have a stainless steel plunger and safety lid?

DRuff Hello Dan. Thank you for visiting and thank you for your question. The plunger and safety lid on this product does have some plastic. The actually bottom of the plunger is plastic and a small piece under the safety lid has plastic on it. The top of the lid as well as the shaft is stainless steel. You may want to also consider the Frieling coffee press which is all stainless steel including the plunger and lid. Feel free to ask any additional questions about this or any other product.

I am interested in the large 48 oz. press Columbia coffee press. They have a new design which is sleaker and I cannot tell if this is the one you are featuring. Bodum's # is 1312-16. Can you give me the answer to this? If it is the new one, I will order it from you.

To maximize this heat retention, it’s best to preheat this press by rinsing it with hot water prior to brewing.
