I figured at this price point it was a roll of the dice. I would have spent more but I was afraid I wouldn't use it enough to justify it. So far, I have been surprised. Most criticize the steam quality. The short arm is fine if you use a small single serve pitcher. After practicing, I can get...

Hi, we just bought our machine a week ago and have yet to have it make great espresso. The machine appears to run thru the coffe so fast the end product is something more like weak coffee to light tea. What are we doing wrong?
I just received my EC 155 last night. The unit that the portafilter attaches to is not aligned. Is there a way to move it without ruining the machine so that the holes where the espresso comes out will line up with the larger holes on the drip tray? or is this defective? Also wondering how the baskets lock into the portafilter? I assume there must be a way to lock them in so that they don't fall into the trash or knock box every time you empty the used grounds.
Does this machine have the capability to make regular coffee as well as espresso? Or just espresso and hot water? Thanks,
Caitlyn

Is there a permanent filter.
I am trying to find a combination machine that makes espresso (so i can make starbucks-type drinks at home) and regular coffee for my husband. All the ones I see seem to have terrible ratings. Do you know of a good one that is moderately priced?
I currently have a Nespresso but it doesn't make espresso for my latte drink the way I like, i.e., it is not strong enough.
Thanks !!
Hi !
I just ordered one of these machines. What size tamper do I need to get for it?
Thanks!!!! Can't wait for some awesome espresso!!!!!!!!!
I tried making my first latte, and I couldn't get the process down for frothing the milk and making the espresso. I made the espresso first, which was great and perfect, but the frother spued out hot water not steam. My old maker could do both at the same time. Apparently this one can't.
Question: Do I froth the milk first in a cup. then pack the coffee in the machine and make the espresso? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong to get steam, not hot water.
Thanks for you help.
My DeLonghi EC155 has started dripping pretty steadily from the frothing wand when I brew espresso. Also, the ready light never comes on any more, although I have tested the temp of the water and it gets up to at least 174°. The espresso output drips when I am using the frothing wand. If I want the milk to get pretty hot, it also tastes a bit watery. I have had it 4 years, and it is possible that it is just wearing out. I wonder if there is a gasket or something I can replace. If not, and I have to get a new espresso maker, should I stick with this which used to make decent enough espresso and cappuccino (and I have extra filters and such already), or should I upgrade. I have a new capresso infinity burr grinder and I don't want to replace that yet, but I could afford $200 or a little more for the espresso machine.
Hello,
We own a DeLonghi EC 155 espresso maker. One convenience we've discovered is that the frother spigot doesn't reach far enough down into the frothing pitcher due to the short length of the steam tube. Is it possible to buy a longer replacement steam tube that would fit this model?
thanks,

mjackson ♦ Robert,
I agree if you set yourself up to believe in the machine and use it as you are supposed to this can be a fun machine to own as it actually does work.
