ECM Giotto Premium
Please advise on the vertical space needed to fill the water resevoir on the Giotto Premium. My cabinets are at 18".

Whole Latte Love Staff The Giotto machines are semi-automatic, which means you will need to grind your own beans separately to use with the machine. If you are looking for a machine that grinds for you, I would recommend taking a look at super automatics. These machines will grind, tamp, and brew at the touch of a button. Whole Latte Love Staff The Giotto Premium does not have a water line connection - it has an internal 98 oz reservoir that will need to be refilled when it is empty. Unfortunately, we do not have any plumbable machines at this time.

ECM Giotto Premium
My Giotto premium machine is leaking water from the top of the portafilter. Since the same thing is happening with both portafilter units, I assume that I need a new portafilter gasket. Can I purchase one (or two, if they don't spoil with age) from Whole Latte Love?

Whole Latte Love Staff Before purchasing any parts, you want to rule out that the problem is being caused by using coffee that’s ground too finely or excessive tamp pressure. If you’ve determined it’s not one of these things, please call us at 888-411-5282 so that we can rule out any other issues and send you the brew group gasket if that is, in fact, the problem.

Whole Latte Love Staff Currently, we only have the Giotto Premium (and all other espresso machines we carry) available in a 110v version. I would recommend contacting the US distributor for ECM, Burgess Enterprises, at 800-927-3286 for further information about 220v availability.

ECM Giotto Premium
I have read what a great machine the Giotto Premium is at making espresso, but my wife only drinks latte and caps and I need a machine that steams with authority. Will the Giotto live up to that need?

Whole Latte Love Staff The Giotto Premium is a very capable machine and will be able to produce all the power you need for latte after cappuccino after latte. The large capacity of its 1.8 liter heat exchanger boiler provides excellent steam pressure that will give you the ability to steam and froth like a pro.

Whole Latte Love Staff The Giotto Premium does not come with the ability to use ESE certified pods like those made by Illy. However, we do have a single shot filter basket available that we’ve found works well to brew pods with the E61 brew group. To order one of these filter baskets, please contact us at 888-411-5282.

Whole Latte Love Staff Evian will work well with your machine. We recommend using filtered water to minimize scaling, but keep in mind that not all bottled water is filtered - you’ll need to read the label to be sure.

Whole Latte Love Staff The ECM Giotto Premium has a heat exchanger boiler that cannot be descaled. Due to the boiler’s design, it would be very difficult to get all of the descaling solution out without having to go so far as removing the boiler and taking it apart. The cleaning process for the Giotto Premium is backflushing with a detergent like Urnex Cafiza. You can learn more about Cafiza and backflushing by following the links below.

Whole Latte Love Staff The Giotto Premium stands 14" tall, so you may find it somewhat difficult to refill the reservoir underneath your cabinet - especially since the reservoir is accessed from the back of the Premium’s top panel. You will definitely want to fill the reservoir in place, as it would require about 11 inches of space to remove it from the machine, but you should be able to do it as long as you have the right size container.
