Description

Gaggia’s Milk Island is clean, consistent, and simple to use, with its locking top and easy-pour spout. This Milk Island connects to your Gaggia Platinum machine (the Gaggia Platinum Vision, Gaggia Platinum Vogue, Gaggia Platinum Swing, or Gaggia Platinum Swing Up), becoming part of the steam system. Pour cold, fresh milk into the carafe, turn the steam knob, and the machine froths and steams milk for a cappuccino or latte. The Milk Island is easy to take apart and clean, and has a tot

The light on my milk island remains red consistently, even when the carafe is placed completely down. I've had the machine for two years, never had a problem. I clean the carafe after every use.

techkathy There is a small raised area on the Milk Island base. In the center of this raised area is a small button. If you press the small button does the light turn green or turn off? You can also remove the Milk Island base and make sure that the brass contacts are clean.

The milk island heats milk but does not froth.

DRuff Hello James. Usually the culprit for the milk island not frothing properly is that it needs to be thoroughly cleaned. We have done some great videos on the milk island that may help: http://www.wholelattelove.com/videos.cfm. Basically, I would first run water through the island instead of milk then take the carafe fully apart and run under warm water. Any leftover milk will quickly dry up and cause blockage. Don’t hesitate to call our tech team at 888-411-5282 opt 3 should you still experience difficulties. Happy Brewing!

At first it frothed the milk great, now it just heats it, NO froth at all. Not sure what the trouble is.

Michael Rosso ♦ Stephanie...You most likely you have a clogged tube on your milk island. To fix the problem simply remove the black rubber cap on the top of your milk island and make sure that all the holes are cleaned out. Thanks.

I haven't figured out how to take the island apart completely. I can take the holder off, but not the top. I don't want to break it. Any advice?

The milk island does great as far as frothing goes, but seems to reach maximum frothing capacity before it has heated the milk sufficiently. I've been forced to then zap the latte before I drink it. What am I missing?

mjackson ♦ Kent,

I would try using a little less milk and that will help. Try filling a little above the minimum line. You may also want to watch this video on the milk island.

I've had this unit for about 8 months, and have yet to break the carafe.... however, it's not a matter of if, but when.... Is is possible to just buy a replacement glass carafe, instead of the whole unit.

is this really just a milk recepticle? seems a bit "dear" (@ $129) for a milk container...

just curious, it was supposed to come with mine but didn't (purchased using air miles - not from you guys)

is it worth purchasing?

TechMilanoItalia David, no it is an actual frothing device for the milk that is automated. It is easy to use, but you can froth milk with the wand on the front of the machine as well, so it is your choice if you want to use the milk island.

our milk island has stopped working. the light went out a couple of months ago and now, regardless of whether it is in position or not, it says the milk island is missing.

it also seems to be putting out alot of water when it doesn't sense the milk island.

what do you suggest?

thanks.

ToddS If the display on the says the Milk Island is missing please remove the base of the Milk Island from the machine and then attach it again. Please make sure that is pushed up all the way onto the machine. At this point the red light should go on and when you put on the Milk Island the red light should turn green. If it does not then it sounds like there is a problem. Please call our tech support for assistance.

I have a Gaggia Syncrony Compact. Will the Milk Island work with this product? If not, do I have options?

Thanks

Bob

TechMilanoItalia No, the Milk Island is not compatible with the Syncrony Compact machine - you could try the optional Auto-Frother attachment for that machine, or a standalone frother like the Nespresso Aeroccino.

I broke my jug from the milk island. Is there a replacement jug only?

Thank you.

TechMilanoItalia Unfortunately, the Milk Island components are not available separately. So you would need to purchase a complete replacement Milk Island.
