I really like this thing. I travel a lot and want to be able to start my day with a latte, so this thing is just the trick. It took some experimenting to get the best results, but now I can make an espresso that is pretty good. My guess is that the E.S.E. pods are probably the main limitation on...

Hi. I have a Handpresso Wild (the kind that uses pods). Is there any way to use it or modify it so that it works with ground coffee like the Dome Pod version?
re: Wild v. Domepod- was excited that Handpresso introduced a unit that uses fresh-ground, but was disappointed to learn that it would NOT use pods!
Is it possible that the only difference in these products is the coffee-holding inserts? If so, might I buy the Wild + a 'replacement' basket for the Domepod?.
I have not seen either in person; both ESE & fresh-ground have their advantages under the proper circumstances. I wouldn't buy 2 units to get both capabilities, though. Could I use, for example, any known ESE adapter basket with the Domepod to get both capabilities perhaps?
I guess you see what I'm getting at- probably just a matter of time before they market the ensemble that I seek. Until then, do you see any options or mods that will get me there?
The water seems to rush through in about 5 sec. That was with my Isomac Gran Maccinino at the finest setting. I also tried grinding with my Zassenhause hand grinder. That produced mlidly better results as I got a finer grind from it. What is the best way to tamp the filter? Is there a recommended grind for it? What am I doing wrong?
you can buy a small submersible unit that goes in a cup to heat water looks like a small twisted rod with a cord. these are inexpensive and are good for heating water in a hotel room and not heavy to carry. hardware or camping stores usually sell them.
do you have to use a pod or can you use espresso ground coffee
I really am trying to avoid being tied to pods and hope like the twist one can use ground coffee.
I want a unit I can travel with to hotels that don't have boiling water in the room (Four Seasons Chicago). Do you have something that will heat the water as well to boiling?Thx so much - CS
