It is a great grinder had it for a year, then on routine cleaning out in one of the heads in backward and could not get it out. I think it is a great grinder, but not user friendly. How is it possible that you put in a head wrong and you can't take it out. Poor machine construction.

I have used this machine daily for over 4 years and it has consistently performed. My Rancilio Silvia can be picky about the grind, but I get consistent lovely crema and beautiful shots. The dosing dial numbers are not that helpful, but I quickly learned where to turn it for one shot or two....

What setting shoul i used for my Gaggia Coffee. I tried settings on "very fine" and "fine" and the grind choke the machine. Then I tried 2 and 3 mark on "medium" and it works but I do not get a
good espresso.
Is it ok using the "medium" setting on the Capresso or it is my Gaggia Coffe? What do you think?
Thank you.

Try different settings one will work. Make sure you clean out the coffee from the grinder before you change settings and try another grind. You want to make sure you don't get the different grinds all mixed up. Just adjust one step or setting at a time until you get it right.

Just wanted to tell everyone that I have used this grinder for at least three years and have been very satisfied. I live in a very low humidity environment (Rocky Mountains) and have not been bothered by static. Have not had to replace the burrs. I only use it for espresso. I get perfect crema using Illy medium roast beans. This machine even survived my wife putting it back together wrong and jamming it! Recommended.

Thanks for the comment. I agree it is a great grinder to consider for most uses and at the price it is a very good deal and thanks for the input.

I want a grinder I can use with my preferred oily beans. I bought your Capresso 580 a few months ago and find it requires minimum 10 minutes of declogging after every use. Capresso replaced the first one, returned at my expense, but the new one is no better.
How is the Infinity for oily beans and an electric drip pot?

techkathy Peggy,
Oilier beans are going to clog almost all burr grinders. You may want to consider a blade grinder for your oily bean type. They do not grind as consistently as a burr grinder but they will not clog with an oily bean. Drip coffee also does not require as precise of a grind as espresso or stovetop moka pots.

Hi,

I see that you have different models of the capresso burr grinder. Do you have one for which the casing is actually stainless steel? not brushed plastic ?

TechMilanoItalia Yes, if you choose the stainless steel model from the drop-down selection, it is the metal housing in the stainless finish.

I am looking for a grinder to use with my Capresso Classic. Seems this is a reasonable match. I have been getting unclear information on use of this grinder with the portafilter. Can it grind directly and cleanly into the portafilter? Thanks.

WholeLatteLoveS S The Infinity grinder will pair well with the Capresso espresso machines or coffee makers. The will not grind directly into your portafilter. You will need to grind into the grounds container and then scoop the grinds into your portafilter.

How do I know how many cups I'm making with the timer? Or do I have to measure them out each time before grinding?

0

TechMilanoItalia It would depend on how much coffee your coffee machine needs to make a cup. It will take some trial and error, but once you figure out how much time it takes to make enough for your machine, you can always just set the timer to that same amount of time.
