Is the ginder construction steel burr conical grinder or plastic? Is it able to produce a fine espresso type grind? And, does it grind the amount of beans based upon the number of cups specified?

Michael Rosso ♦ Elizabeth...Thank you for your interest in the Krups KM7000 Pro Grinder and Brewer. You will not be able to grind coffee beans fine enough for espresso with this machine. The grinder in this unit has steel burrs, and It grinds according to how many cups you are brewing.
Thanks.
