New From Bodum!

I'm always excited when I get to write about new items, which is why I was really jazzed, this week, when we got some new stuff from Bodum. First are a pair of new pair of French presses, the Crema and the Eileen. The elegant Crema is a classic example of Bodum's intelligent and functional design,...

Breville BMF600XL Milk Café
Breville BMF600XL Milk Café

For lactose intolerant, this unit quickly makes beautiful hot or cold froth, foam, and crema from Unsweetened Silk Soy Milk; however, I got zilch results using Almond Milk. Handy cap/opening is great for adding Almond extract (for cold or hot milk), and adding cinnamon, garam masala, nutmeg,...

Gaggia Platinum Milk Island Automatic Milk Frother
Gaggia Platinum Milk Island Automatic Milk Frother

The light on my milk island remains red consistently, even when the carafe is placed completely down. I've had the machine for two years, never had a problem. I clean the carafe after every use.

techkathy There is a small raised area on the Milk Island base. In the center of this raised area is a small button. If you press the small button does the light turn green or turn off? You can also remove the Milk Island base and make sure that the brass contacts are clean.

Nespresso Aero 3 in Black
Nespresso Aero 3 in Black

We have loved using this steamer/frother. However, as I have read about other models from this company, after about 1 year of use, milk has scalded onto the machine by the magnetic elements, and it is no longer dependable. We have cleaned it carefully after every use. I have written to...

Sanfam ♦ While I have not been able to locate officially published measurements, I just took a few readings off of our floor model. Across two frothing cycles (using the aerator spring disc and water at the appropriate fill level) the final product measured 153.5F and 152.0F--Starting temperatures were 55F. I hope this helps!

Jura-Capresso Froth Pro
Jura-Capresso Froth Pro

I love my little frother. It's a workhorse. When I have board meetings at my house, I can make everyone at latte in no time flat. And, it's super quiet -- unlike the steamer on my Impressa S7.

You do need to follow the directions and make sure the base and pitcher are absolutely clean and...
