Description

The fire engine red ABS housing of the Gaggia Espresso Color may be what makes it stand out on your counter, but the crema-topped espresso it brews will be what makes it stand out in your memory. Gaggia has outdone itself again – the Gaggia Espresso Color features a stainless steel boiler for top notch heat retention, while its pump produces a maximum of 15 bars of pressure to ensure that your espresso is brewed properly. I replaced the group gasket because of a leak every time I pull a shot. When I did a test run, the pressure moved the portafilter and the new gasket leaks more than the old one. I opened the machine and tried again just in case I made a mistake and the same thing happened again. Any ideas or trouble shooting please.

mjackson ♦ Mercedes ,

First did you get the correct group gasket, did you remove the old one completely and was it perfectly clean, did you put it in beveled side down? If you have a question contact us.

Refurbished Gaggia Espresso Color Espresso Machine
Refurbished Gaggia Espresso Color Espresso Machine

I bought this machine refurbished and used it quite frequently with great results. I purchased the Gaggia Espresso Color in February 2012 and in November I brewed two shots, turned around to brew two more and the machine was dead. I made several attempts to turn the machine on and the power light would flash on then off again. Finally, after four or five tries with different wall outlets, there was no light at all. I ordered a fuse as recommended by the support representative and I installed it with no success. I felt this was a quality machine and would recommend it, however refurbished or not, I feel that I should have gotten at least a year of use out of it!

Sanfam ♦ I'm sorry to hear about all of the trouble you had with your machine! It's natural to expect a product of this caliber to last years--Unfortunately, faults can crop up in even the best machines. While problems like those you described (a sudden and abrupt loss of power) would most commonly stem from a blown fuse, it's clear that you've looked into that and made no progress. At this point in time, you may want to consider calling our Technical Support department to perform some additional troubleshooting over the phone (We're open weekends!) or to investigate the option of repair. They can be reached at 888-411-5282, Option 3, form 9am to 6pm EST.
