In my opinion, the width of the padded bar is not enough to be comfortable whacking the portafilter without worrying about hitting the edges of the box.

This is a solid, well-made, beautiful knock box. There is no problem knocking a portafilter against the foam covered bar to release a spent puck. It is pricey at full retail ($99) but can be found for half that price. My only concern is replacing the bar when the the foam inevitably wears out. I...

What are the dementions of this knock box and will it fit under the group head. Space is an issue so I need to save o counter space.

A A Trinideb, The Rocket Espresso Knock Box measures 4" in diameter, and 6" tall. It likely wont fit under the Brew Head, but it fit fine next to the Brew Head by the steam wand on the Rocket Giotto we have here. I hope this information is helpful!
