Salvatore Automatic Espresso Machine
Salvatore Automatic Espresso Machine

Having used this machine for just about one year, I have two things to say about Salvatore and his hand-made espresso machine. First, the espresso shot that one can create from this machine is among the best I have ever had anywhere in the world (and that includes most of Northern Italy)....

No contest. This is the best machine I've ever used, and I've fooled around with a few (see above). It makes peerless espresso and wonderfully creamy foam. If you've been lucky enough to enjoy espresso on home ground in Italy, this machine will transport you there.

From the moment I took the Salvatore out of the box it has been an absolute stellar performer. The SS components are easy to clean and backflushing once a week has proved to be a sure way to avoid any maintenance issues.

Salvatore Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine
Salvatore Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine

This is THE god shot machine. I use it in my espresso bar in a commercial environment. I make 70 to 100 shots a day for my customers. Sure it's only a single group, but I only have 2 hands for christs sake. I added the plumbing in myself as it's a simple compression fitting and a pressure...

Gaggia Sync Compact
Gaggia Sync Compact

Today while I was making a coffee in my wonderful Gaggia super-automatic, a nasty "squealing" noise occurred, which I had never heard before. I turned the machine off, pulled out the brew group, cleaned it and everything else I could see. The noise did more or less go away, though there was still a bit of a remnant. I have performed descaling once, when I was instructed to do so, and I try to clean the brew group every so often.

Whole Latte Love Staff This is an issue of lubrication.  The brew unit needs to be lubricated with food edible grease.  This will solve the problem of the squealing brew unit.  You can purchase this product by calling us at 1-888-411-5282 and asking for a tube of Petro Gel grease.

I have had a Magic Deluxe for 4 years. It has been troublefree, although the no-bean indicator never worked....
Now, after descaling, I find that the expressed coffee is wet and it seems to take longer for a cup to make. What could be the problem?

Cleaning the brew unit will most likely cure this problem.  Simply remove the filter screen and the spout that is located on the top of the brew unit.  Be cautious when removing the spout off of the top because there is a spring and checkball that we need to be certain that we do not lose.  Clean the entire brew unit thoroughly and try running a few more shots through the machine to see if this solves the problem.  If not please give us a call at 1-888-411-5282.

I have had our Salvatore Espresso Machine on since the day we got it.
It is plumbed in and always ready. We keep it spotlessly clean, and today
I order our second machine, the commercial version. --Is mine broken? Hardly,
I admit it, I am a coffee snob, and just wanted a new machine. I’ll...

Gaggia Coffee de Luxe Espresso Machine
Gaggia Coffee de Luxe Espresso Machine

i recently purchased the gaggia coffee deluxe and was wondering how long can i leave the main power on when not brewing? for example, if i am going to wait an hour for another espresso should i turn it off wait 50 min then turn it back on wait 10 min and brew, or is ok to leave it on?

Whole Latte Love Staff It is not recommended that you leave this machine on when it is not in use. The main reason for this is that it does not have an auto-fill feature (like prosumer machines do), so the water can fully evaporate from the boiler. In addition, leaving it on for extended periods can decrease the life of the heating element over time. I would recommend turning the machine off if you won’t be brewing with it again within an hour.

Capresso C1000
Capresso C1000

I just purchased the Capresso C1000 and I absolutely love it. Straight forward and easy to use. My only problem is that after foaming milk I have a hard time getting the machine to reset to coffee making. I follow the instructions in the book and whether or not the machine resets appears to be entirely random. Often it takes me 7 or 8 tries before the reset "takes". Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

After frothing your milk, you want to make sure that you’re closing the steam wand before you start the "resetting" process.  After it is closed, place a container under the frothing wand, turn the selector switch to the steam/hot water position and press the hot water button.  This should release the remaining steam which will turn into a stream of hot water, and the machine will stop itself automatically.  At this point you should be ready to brew again by turning the selector switch back to the brewing position.  If you are following these steps precisely and you are still experiencing a problem, you should call Capresso for more information at 800-767-3554.

FrancisFrancis! X5
FrancisFrancis! X5

After 1 year of use, the steam wand on my X5 leaks water very slowly (even when the steam button is off). Is there a valve that is worn out that I can replace easily?

I would recommend calling FrancisFrancis! at 1-877-854-4141.  They will be able to diagnose the problem and supply you with any parts or repairs that need to be made.
