mjackson ♦ Here are the imstructions
9.2 Switch off the appliance. Put the
descaling solution in a ratio of 1:1 (0,5
litres of SOLIPOL and 0,5 litres of water)
into the water reservoir. Place reservoir on machine.

9.3 Put large container under the
steam and hot water nozzle and open
steam/hot water knob. Switch on
main ON/OFF switch and drain
approx. 3 dl of water through the
nozzle.
9.4 Switch off main ON/OFF switch
and allow the descaling solution to work
for approx. 5 minutes.
9.5 Repeat the procedure as per Pt.
9.3 and 9.4 two or three times until all
the descaling solution has been drained
from the water reservoir. Close the
steam/hot water knob. Carefully rinse
the water reservoir and refill with
fresh water.
9.6 Switch on main ON/OFF switch
and carefully rinse the machine by
draining the fresh water (at least one
liter) through the steam and hot water
nozzle. Careful rinsing will avoid any
negative influence on the taste of your
coffee. The SOLIS MASTER 5000 is
now again ready for operation.
Important: Regular descaling will protect your machine.

How do I go about relubricating the brewing unit and what do I use. After numerous cleanings the machine is starting to sound like it is straining to go through it's cycles and I noticed that the channels in the brewing unit no longer have the lubricant they used to have.

TechMilanoItalia The product you'd want to use is called 'Petrol Gel'. It's a food-safe, mineral oil-based lubricant used for small appliance lubrication. Give us a call and we can get that ordered for you. Just a small (pea-sized) dab in each of those tracks that run the length of the brew unit walls on the inside would be sufficient.

Our Solis was running slow and dumping a lot of water into the grounds dispenser and now it will not work at all. We can not find anyone in our area to fix it. Is there someone we can talk to about he problem that may be able to help us figure it out and get it fixed?

I have a Solis Master 5000, about 1.5 years of use. Today the error message "Brewunit Block." appeared. The manual is pretty worthless on this error, turn the unit off and then on again.
Cleaned the brew unit thoroughly, vacuumed all the coffee particulates out of the brew unit compartment, actuated the switch for the unit. Tried again, still get the same error.
It is obvious that when the unit is powered on that the normal startup sequence is not occurring, i.e. no sounds of motors or parts moving.
I am looking for advice to get the unit working again

TechMilanoItalia Unfortunately, if the brew unit motor is not cycling upon start-up (you should hear that motor noise), the machine will need to come in for repair. Please give us a call and we can get you all set up.

Today while I was making a coffee in my wonderful Gaggia super-automatic, a nasty "squealing" noise occurred, which I had never heard before. I turned the machine off, pulled out the brew group, cleaned it and everything else I could see. The noise did more or less go away, though there was still a bit of a remnant. I have performed descaling once, when I was instructed to do so, and I try to clean the brew group every so often.

Whole Latte Love Staff This is an issue of lubrication.  The brew unit needs to be lubricated with food edible grease.  This will solve the problem of the squealing brew unit.  You can purchase this product by calling us at 1-888-411-5282 and asking for a tube of Petro Gel grease.

I have had a Magic Deluxe for 4 years. It has been troublefree, although the no-bean indicator never worked....
Now, after descaling, I find that the expressed coffee is wet and it seems to take longer for a cup to make. What could be the problem?

Cleaning the brew unit will most likely cure this problem.  Simply remove the filter screen and the spout that is located on the top of the brew unit.  Be cautious when removing the spout off of the top because there is a spring and checkball that we need to be certain that we do not lose.  Clean the entire brew unit thoroughly and try running a few more shots through the machine to see if this solves the problem.  If not please give us a call at 1-888-411-5282.

How do you make multiple cups of coffee with this machine. Do you need to change the "filter-press" each time? Can you make cafe creme with this machine?

I am assuming you are referring to the portafilter when you speak of "filter-press". The coffee in the portafilter does need to be emptied after each shot and refilled to make another. The following articles should help you to understand the portafilter and the golden rule a little better.

You can make cafe crema with this machine by using the manual brew button (all the way to the right).  You will have to press the button to start the brewing process, and once 6-8 oz of water has been dispensed, press it again to stop brewing.
