Owning the Ceado E37K
The Ceado E37K offers a collection of features that mark an innovative step forward for the brand. In this way, the Ceado E37K is quite unlike anything we've had the opportunity to test. At first glance, this grinder shares its looks with the rest of the E37 series, borrowing the height of the E37T, but with certain additions we're excited to discuss.
Now, let's talk about what this grinder brings to bear. First is the Quick Set Gear that finely adjusts grind size and consistency. The Gear is easily adjusted, turning smoothly with just your thumb and forefinger even after constant, heavy use. For us, the Quick Set Gear is a considerable improvement over the lever adjustment present on other models. Next is the shuffle snoot that directs grinds into your portafilter. The shuffle snoot is essentially an extended chute that guides coffee downward at adjustable angles, significantly aiding in coffee distribution regardless of portafilter size or shape. Expect grinds to be fluffy, with minimal clumping and uniform consistency.
Plus, this is perhaps the quietest grinder we've tested, to date. This is especially impressive because the E37K employs a strong 850 W motor and 71 mm conical burrs. In a quiet room, you can hear it hum, but where it's busy, you'll struggle to hear it at all. The burrs themselves are robust, and can work through 1000 kg of beans before replacements are recommended. Designed for high volume use, the hopper on the E37K holds 1600 g (56 oz) of whole bean coffee.
The accouterments typical to the Ceado brand are present as well, like the steady-lock system and touch display with programmable timed dosing. The steady-lock system retains your grind setting despite heavy use and disassembly for regular maintenance. This is a feature that really lets you set it and forget it, which you'll find a hard time achieving on other grinders. The touch display, as well, is a nice step forward that adds significantly to an already easy to use grinder. Just a touch or two and you can switch between single, double, and the E37K's extra shot with a precision of 0.1 g. The E37K's timed grinding is a reliable way of dosing quickly and accurately, but you can grind manually as well if you prefer.
For cafes or home use, we expect the Ceado E37K to make a wonderful impression on any coffee lover who takes their craft seriously.
Quick Set Gear
Ceado's Quick Set Gear allows for easy grind size adjustment. In combination with the Steady-Lock system, you can dial-in once and never have to worry about drift. When trying new beans or exploring different settings, you can expect adjust to be smooth even after extreme use.
Touch Display
The E37K's display is flat, with touch-sensitive light-up icons for single shots, double shots, as well as a customizable extra shot. The Set menu lets you adjust timed doses in 0.1 g increments, up to 99 seconds. Explore extra features like Pulse mode and "dose with start" mode.
Magnetic Control
Because this is a high-capacity grinder that can perform well commercially, Ceado has added an extra layer of safety. A magnetic sensor, located in an antenna behind the hopper, observes the magnet located inside the hopper, automatically terminating operation should the hopper be removed.
Quiet Operation
The way Ceado suspended the motor and soundproofed the housing makes for one of the quietest, if not the quietest, grinders on the market. Grinding won't have any impact on conversation while you prepare a shot in a quiet office space or kitchen.
