With six unique drink buttons, pristine stainless steel housing, and a full color display, modern aesthetics and technology combine for a machine that transforms your kitchen into a veritable coffee house. Raising the bar, DeLonghi has supplemented its formidable \"Autocappuccino" system with an additional dedicated chocolate carafe allowing you to brew hot chocolate in addition to lattes, macchiatos, and cappuccinos. The carafe can be used with any kind of powdered chocolate mix to craft a cafe quality beverage at the touch of a button. The Exclusive also cuts no corners with its robust coffee preparation options. With 13 grind settings, adjustable strength, volume, and temperature options, a built in cup warmer, the ability to store multiple user profiles, and a powerful memory function, you will be able to personalize your ideal drinks and prepare them with the push of a button.
Internally, the Exclusive brews with a powerful 1350 watt boiler and a 15 bar pump and grinds with an integrated silent grinder. The brew unit allows you to prepare up to two coffee drinks simultaneously using either whole beans or pre-ground coffee via the bypass doser. The unit is also fully removable for easy cleaning. The water reservoir is removable and holds 48oz or roughly 1.4 liters and can be fitted with a water filter, while the bean hopper can hold up to 8.82oz of whole bean coffee. The drip tray is easy to remove and to clean and the machine will alert you to empty the grounds bin after 14 drinks have been made or 72 hours have passed since it was last emptied.
Maintenance of the machine is largely handled through a number of automatic alerts and rinsing functions. Both the brew spouts and the "Autocappuccino" systems feature rinsing functions to keep them clean and in working order. Both of the frothing carafes can be dismantled for cleaning in the dishwasher and feature integrated cleaning functions when attached to your machine. With regards to more routine maintenance, the machine features an automatic descaling cycle that allows you to program your water hardness and will alert you when the time has come to decalcify your machine. For the energy conscious, DeLonghi has several energy saving features including a new standby function as well as a power switch that can shut the machine down entirely for zero energy consumption.
For one looking for an all encompassing home espresso experience, the DeLonghi PrimaDonna Exclusive ESAM 6900 is a machine that fits the bill quite nicely.
