The FrancisFrancis! X1 is the masterwork of designer Luca Trazzi who dreamed up the bold, retro styled machine back in 1995. The X1 is a semi-automatic machine that brews using a powerful brass boiler and a vibration pump. In addition to its vibrant color, you’ll be sure spot the oversized center mounted temperature gauge on the front of the machine and chromed cup rack on top. For easy removal and cleaning, the drip tray on the X1 slides out like drawer and also sports a removable stainless steel cover.
Unique among machines this size, the X1 brews using a brass boiler as opposed to stainless steel which is seen in many newer semi-automatics. Brass is known for its heat retention and aids in maintaining temperature stability while brewing. The water reservoir hold 52oz and is located in back and out of sight so as not to detract from the unique style of the rest of machine. For preparation of milk drinks, the X1 has a unique steam wand similar to a Pannarello that features an intake hole to inject air into your milk while frothing.

Dimensions: 19.5" H x 15.5" L x 13.5" W

Don asked:

what is the water temperature during extraction.

Answer by Sanfam:

While we don't have mid-extraction temps for these due to not having a correctly sized scace, expect a temperature of roughly 160F in-cup.

ktmenges asked:

I am wondering what the material is, for the handle, basket, and spout - what parts are metal and what are plastic. For plastic parts, waht type of plastic is used? Also, what version of the X1is this machine?

Thanks so much for your time!

Answer by Erik:

These items are all chrome-plated brass and the this machine is metal on the outside.  There is no point of reference for which type of plastic is used internally.
