Refurbished FrancisFrancis! X1 Stainless Steel with Brass Boiler and Pod Coffee Handle
Owning the FrancisFrancis! X1 Stainless Steel with Brass Boiler and Pod Coffee Handle
The FrancisFrancis! X1 is the masterwork of designer Luca Trazzi who dreamed up the bold, retro styled machine back in 1995. The X1 is a semi-automatic machine that brews using a powerful brass boiler and a vibration pump. In addition to its vibrant color, you’ll be sure spot the oversized center mounted temperature gauge on the front of the machine and chromed cup rack on top. For easy removal and cleaning, the drip tray on the X1 slides out like drawer and also sports a removable stainless steel cover.
Unique among machines this size, the X1 brews using a brass boiler as opposed to stainless steel which is seen in many newer semi-automatics. The portafilter on this version of the X1 has been adapted to brew using ESE (easy serve espresso) pods for clean and convenient brewing. Brass is known for its heat retention and aids in maintaining temperature stability while brewing. The water reservoir hold 52oz and is located in back and out of sight so as not to detract from the unique style of the rest of machine. For preparation of milk drinks, the X1 has a unique steam wand similar to a Pannarello that features an intake hole to inject air into your milk while frothing.
