stephen asked:

Just set up the refurbed Saeco Vienna Plus purchased last week. All priming procedures for the brew unit were followed precisely. The machine nonetheless almost immediately revealed a screech and/or whine as the brew unit forced water through the coffee and out into my cup. This is not a grinder issue. In reviewing this online  I see the screeching problem arises often.

After going over all the Saeco brew unit videos I could find and trying various cleaning, adjusting and lubing procedures the screeching and whining persisted. The only suggested solution I found online was to remove, clean, lube and replace the O-ring on the brew unit, but that did not work for me. Is there any solution?

Answer by Sanfam:

If the machine is making a "Screeching" sound while brewing, all signs point to there being something in the brew unit's check valve.  This little valve can be pulled apart and cleaned with only some basic tools.  While these instructions are not yet available on the website, we would be glad to email them to you.  Please send an email requesting them and we'll gladly send a set over.
