Highlights & Specifications
The Gaggia bottomless portafilter is an essential tool for any serious home barista. The Gaggia bottomless portafilter allows you to see any channeling as it occurs so the barista in you can easily identify uneven tamping. This 58mm bottomless portafilter is made of a commercial grade, chrome-plated brass and is compatible with Gaggia semi-automatic espresso machines that use the Gaggia 58mm portafilter. Because the interior side-wall is machined flush it will any accept any depth of filter basket.
A bottomless portafilter lets you perfect the art of espresso. Without spouts, the bottomless portafilter gives you an unobstructed view of the entire extraction process as it progresses.
When will this product be available again?
I have also wondered about this problem. I solved it by going to the Joe Frex website. They have a Gaggia Naked Portafilter. I ordered it and now have it. It arrives with a triple basket in it which I had a devil of a time trying to remove by just pushing on it. I finally wised up and used the pressurized basket as a tool and got it out. The PF worked well and it was a pleasure to see the results.
As a bonus the price was two (2) dollars cheaper including shipping.
As an aside this eems to be a constant with Gaggia. The Latte Art Pannarello has been touted since I've had my New Baby with no availibility and no info if it will ever be available.
When will this be available again?
These should be available again the first week of September 2014.
Would this work with the capresso ec100?
Unfortunately, this part is not compatible with anything we're familiar with from Capresso.
I want to order the pressurized basket pin and the SS panarello wand sleeve and the bottomless portafilter. Will the order be held untill the bottomless portafilter is available?
Thank you for the question. Yes, the order will be held until the portafilter comes in. I will check on the portafilter again. As I thought they were coming in next week. I do have a question for you. If you are getting the bottomless portafilter, you would need the pin? Do you have a good burr grinder? As you would need a good grinder to get the bottomless portafilter to work correct as it only uses a commercial basket.
I'm still learning how to pull a proper shot. I want the pin to help me pull shots while I'm learning. I do want to be able to have a sip or two during this period so I use the pressurized basket to get that sip. . I almost lost the pin I have in the garbage disposal while rinsing the potyafilter after a shot. I have a Baratza Preciso grinder which is doing a good job. I intend to use the portafilter to help me learn how to use the machine. Thanks for asking.
will this work on an old model espresso gaggia machine?
Yes, it will work on an older model-Gaggia's machines all share the same size portafilter. You will just want to make sure that you use a commercial style basket (with holes throughout the bottom of the basket) rather than a pressurized one (that needs the small frothing jet device/2-way pin to work).
What model Gaggia is it? I have heard that Gaggia uses the same pf's on all of their machines.
What is the cost of the triple shot basket that goes with this?
Sadly there is not a triple shot basket which will work with the Gaggia Bottomless Portafilter.
Does this Gaggia Bottomless Portafilter come with the triple shot basket that has the screen?
It does not. You can order it separately though.
What size is the handle bolt so I can change it? 10 or 12mm?
Unfortunately, I don't have an exact measure on the bolt in this handle--it should be the same as a standard Gaggia Portafilter which uses an M6X16 bolt.
Will this fit a Breville BES900XL?
I am sorry it wont fit. A lot of the group heads have unique proportions and you need to get a Breville bottomless portafilter. Unfortunately we do not carry them.
