The DeLonghi Primma Donna Exclusive
I remember my first cell phone years ago; it didn’t have many bells or whistles and it was roughly the size of a car battery. You could use it make calls and well, that’s about it. Nowadays, smart phones have and do just about everything you can imagine. When it comes to espresso machines, I like to think of the DeLonghi PrimaDonna Exclusive ESAM 6900 as being a sort of smartphone itself. In layman’s terms it’s a one-touch, bean to cup machine with more drink varieties, programmability, and style than you can shake a stick at!
Time-Saving and Unique Features
Many of us have busy, fast paced lives and the PrimaDonna 6900 is a wonderful, time saving addition to your routine. With this machine you can make lattes, macchiatos, cappuccinos, espresso, coffee, and even hot chocolate with just the push of a button. And, for those mornings when you’re really in a rush, the PrimaDonna 6900 has and auto turn on and standby function so that it’s ready when you are. If you’re not the only coffee lover in the house, you’ll come to appreciate the multiple user profiles that can be programmed for up to 6 different people.
Unique to this machine are its two carafes, 1 for hot chocolate and the other for milk. The chocolate carafe is dedicated for hot chocolate only and can use either powder mix or syrup. When you’re done, cleanup is easy because the carafe is dishwasher safe. The milk carafe will froth milk for all of your favorite drinks like cappuccinos and lattes and dispense it directly into your cup. When not in use, the carafe can be removed from the machine and put into the fridge to keep the remaining milk cold.
A detail worth mentioning is that the footprint is a tad big with a length of 9.37” and a width of 15.75”. The machine measures 16.73” in height (18.75” with bean hopper lid open). The water reservoir is just under 1.5 liters and is compatible with the DLS C002 water filter. The bean hopper holds just under 9oz of beans and features DeLonghi’s new silent grinder with 13 grind settings. The Prima Donna 6900 is extremely easy to maintain with maintenance alerts for any cleaning required and boasts automatic programs for rinsing and descaling. This machine is a bit on the pricy side but it is well worth all of the awesome features and conveniences!
