Apple Pie Latte

We're Apple People, Right Down to the Core!

What if I told you that you could make an apple pie using just your espresso machine? Well, frankly I wouldn't believe it either because...you can't. But, you can make a delicious approximation of this classic Fall dessert in the form of a latte, an Apple Pie Latte. Here in New York we're apple people, (to the core) and this recipe has me really excited.

Ingredients

  • 1 Shot of Espresso
  • 2oz of Apple Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons of Granulated Sugar
  • A Pinch of Cinnamon
  • A Pinch of Nutmeg
  • 4oz of Milk
  • Whipped Cream (optional)

Directions

I'll be honest, this latte is a bit of a tricky beast to tackle, but well worth it if you're craving a drink that blends the Fall flavors of apples and spice. As far as lattes go, this drink requires a few extra steps.

  1. In your frothing pitcher, begin by combining your apple juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. When all of the ingredients are in the pitcher you'll use the steam wand to whip them together until the mixture is hot and the sugar is dissolved. Wipe down the steam arm when you're finished.
  2. Brew yourself a shot of espresso and in a separate pitcher, steam your 4oz of milk (if you only have 1 pitcher, transfer your apple juice mixture to a separate container and rinse the pitcher before frothing). When your milk is steamed, combine your espresso, apple juice, and milk in a tall glass.

Top with whipped cream if you like, and enjoy!
