Making it With MaryAnn
Recently I've been trying to think of a different recipe to make. I decided on the classic chocolate chip cookies with a twist of espresso! Chocolate chip cookies with espresso as an ingredient will provide a nice caffeine pick up while doubling as a delicious treat.
You will need:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 2/3 teaspoon baking powder
- 2/3 teaspoon baking soda
- 2/3 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons fine grind espresso (I used Lavazza e Crema Gusto)
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (or more if you like!)
As the oven is pre-heating to 350; combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla extract. Once that is mixed into a consistent texture, add in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Mix until all of the ingredients in the bowl become smooth then add the espresso grinds, chocolate chips and even nuts if you choose to.
Using a spoon, create cookie dough balls and place on a baking sheet, generously spaced apart. Bake for 10 minutes then cool on a rack.
Enjoy!
