Whole Latte Love is now offering an exclusive, custom version of the Eureka Mignon Specialitia. Espresso-enthusiasts will already know how beloved and trustworthy the Eureka Mignon Magnificos are — I mean, can we talk about that step-less grinder and those colors? — but now Eureka has added an even more decadent layer of luxury with their patented “Diamond Inside” burrs.
Now these aren’t the type of diamonds you’d find having breakfast at Tiffany’s, but they will be your new best friend. These Mignon Magnificos are still for all-purpose use and feature the same intuitive operation as always, but now they will grind better and longer than ever before. The “Diamond Inside'' burrs receive a unique cryogenic treatment that lowers the burrs to -193 degrees Celsius, or -315.4 degrees Fahrenheit. So incredibly, terrifyingly cold. But by doing this, an increased crystal structure called Martensite forms, giving the burrs guaranteed superior wear resistance and performance duration.
Think their longevity is too good to be true? Well, when we look on paper at what the “Diamond Inside” burr can accomplish, the result is a burr longevity of more than 1500 lbs of coffee. So if you’re grinding two pounds a month on average, you would still get 166 years of sharpness out of the same pair of burrs. So, for example, if you have a family of four coffee drinkers who have two 18gram double shots a day, the “Diamond Inside” burrs will last fourteen years, versus steel burr’s four and ceramic burr’s seven.
To just reiterate, the 55 mm “Diamond Inside” burr will last through 700kg, or 1500 lbs, of coffee, while a standard set of steel burrs will last for 500 pounds. Plus, the “Diamond Inside” burr is ideal for grinding high density, lightly roasted beans, which can often spell trouble for those same steel burrs.
So, while the exclusive Eureka Mignon Magnifico is a higher price point than the Specialita, the grinder will pay for itself in no time in both ease of mind and longevity of use. This special, custom machine comes in a variety of vibrant colors so intrinsic to Eureka, like Matte Black and Ferrari Red.
Plus, who wouldn’t want a diamond or two in their grinder? Because diamonds, dear reader, are forever.
