Join us for an evening of latte art, friendly competition, and community support at the Mary’s Place Latte Art Throwdown!

The event is free to attend and spectate, with prizes for the best costume. All registration fees and additional tips collected at checkout will be donated to Mary’s Place Refugee Outreach. You can also help support the organization by bringing items from their requested donation list. Sign up here to secure your spot! 

The Competition

The throwdown will follow a single-elimination bracket format, with baristas competing head-to-head. Each competitor will have one pull and one pour, with a designated shot puller provided.

Baristas are welcome to bring their own steaming pitcher or use one provided at the event. Cups will also be provided, including Acme Latte and Cappuccino cups.

Milk provided:

• Whole milk from Seneca Milk
• Barista-quality Oatmilk from Oatly for one round
  

The Rounds

• Round 1: Barista’s choice — Whole Milk
• Round 2: Heart in a Latte Cup — Oatmilk
• Round 3: Tulip in a Cappuccino Cup — Whole Milk
• Round 4: Rosetta in a Latte Cup — Whole Milk
• Round 5: Barista’s choice — Whole Milk

Judging

Each pour will be judged independently by three judges. The barista receiving at least two out of three votes advances to the next round.

Judges will consider:

• Aesthetic: Overall visual appeal of the pour
• Contrast: Clarity between the espresso and white milk
• Definition: Sharp, well-defined lines and shapes
• Symmetry: Overall balance and evenness of the pattern
• Difficulty: The complexity and skill demonstrated in the design

Join the local coffee community in Evansville, Indiana for the Evansville Latte Art Throwdown! Twenty-eight baristas from cafes and roasteries across the tri-state will compete in a friendly latte art competition, with prizes awarded to the top three competitors. The evening will also feature a cupping competition, food trucks, a pop-up bar, and free admission for the public.
