ROCHESTER, NY — Whole Latte Love was recently recognized by Newsweek as one of America's Best Trending Online Shops for 2021. More than 10,000 online shops were considered and ranked based on a combination of sales, traffic, and technical details. Of the shops considered, those ranked in the top 1,000 were officially named an America's Best Trending Online Shop.
Only 1,000 online shops were officially named to Newsweek's “America’s Best Trending Online Shops 2021” list.
Whole Latte Love is one of just 35 businesses to be recognized in the Household Appliances category of the Home Living industry. Whole Latte Love has also been given a growth rating of “very high” on an increasing scale of “high,” “very high,” or “extremely high."
According to Newsweek, CNBC, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, last year Americans spent $791.7 billion online, an increase of 32.4 percent from 2019. There are more than 2 million online shops in the U.S., so Newsweek teamed up with respected research and data firm Statista to compile their first-ever list of America's Best Trending Online Shops.
Newsweek and Statista looked at online databases, online directories, and price comparison websites to compile a list of more than 10,000 online shops whose traffic and sales have shown rapid growth. In order to be considered, shops also had to have at least 1,000,000 annual website visits in the U.S., growth in both traffic and revenue, and more than half of their sales coming from the U.S.
The shops that met the aforementioned criteria were then sorted across eight industries: fashion and accessories; food health, and personal care; garden and craft; home living; leisure, games and hobby; office, electronics and media; sport, outdoor and motor; and universal providers (retailers that sell everything). Once classified into one of the eight industries, shops were then broken down into 36 product categories specific to their industry.
Shop Smarter with Augmented Reality
Once denoted with a category, each shop was ranked on three criteria: sales data like revenue growth, organic and paid online traffic growth, and technical details like load times, bounce rate, page views per visit, and average time on the site. These metrics were evaluated from March 2019 to February 2021.
After being evaluated, each shop was given a score. The 1,000 shops with the highest scores were then officially awarded to “America’s Trending Online Shops 2021” and listed on the Newsweek website.
