Gaggia Magenta: Milk Carafe Connection Issues

If your carafe will not connect to your machine, or there is a problem with your machine recognizing the connection, there are a few key parts to check out. The carafe connection point on your machine, the spout on the carafe that connects to the machine, and the piece in the drip tray that helps secure the carafe in place are pictured below: Damage to any of those parts could result in a bad connection with the carafe. The two prongs on the carafe spout is how the machine knows if the carafe is attached. The Hot Water Spout will only have one prong. If it’s not recognizing the carafe, and those pieces all look okay, you also want to be sure your machine is on a level surface and that the drip tray is not hanging out off the counter. This can cause the carafe to come disconnected and either not start the drink or cancel it in the middle.
