Cleaning the brew unit and putting it back in the machine is about the last step of your purchasing or repair process, which happens after the post-repair testing. Sometimes in the cleaning, the selector valve gets reassembled in a way that would work on Gaggia super with a side door, but not a super with a front door like the Accademia or Babila:
