DeLonghi Coffee Tamper Overview
Proper tamping is essential to pulling consistent shots of espresso. The DeLonghi Coffee Tamper is designed with a navy blue, painted wood handle and a 50mm stainless steel flat base. The unique diameter is tailored to fit the portafilters featured on DeLonghi’s semi-automatic pump espresso machines.
When tamping for a pressurized basket, the tamper allows for a neater, more consistently compressed puck of espresso. The trick is to avoid overfilling, or over tamping your coffee. For best results, fill the portafilter as normal, gently compress, and twist the tamper for a level and polished puck of coffee.
