If your super-automatic espresso machine suddenly starts dispensing a much smaller drink volume than normal and you are also seeing a lot of water (often coffee-colored) collecting in the drip tray or dreg drawer area, the most common cause is a leak around the brew path. This guide walks you through the main places to check: the brew group upper piston O-ring and shower screen for poor sealing or blockage, and the internal “boiler spout” O-rings and inlet neck inside the brew group compartment that can allow water to bypass the brew circuit and drain into the tray instead of dispensing from the spouts.
