Gaggia Classic and Classic Pro and Evo : Decompression Duct Issues

The chrome tube located on the left side of your Gaggia Classic Pro or Evo Pro (in front of the reservoir) is known as the decompression duct, or blowoff tube. The purpose of this duct is to direct water from the three-way solenoid valve into the drip tray.

If you're having trouble installing the decompression duct, or it won't stay in place, the video below will provide some simple solutions for you. If you've done everything the video suggests and the duct still won't stay in place, it's likely the o-ring inside of the machine is out of place or damaged, and you should try replacing it.

If water flows through the decompression duct during brewing, it's likely the 3-way solenoid valve is not sealing properly, and water is leaking past it. There are a few options for resolving this issue:
