Gaggia Anima and Magenta: Drip Tray or Service Door Will Not Remain in Place
If everything appears to be in place and properly assembled, but the errors will not clear, see our article on Drip Tray and Service Door Alarm. The below article will go over what to do if the drip tray or service door popping out of place are causing either error. Please note the Magenta does not have removable tabs.
What to check on your machine:

-
Ensure the machine is on a flat and level surface, and that the drip tray is not hanging off the counter.
- This can cause the drip tray to not sit quite right and pop out for that reason.
- This can cause the carafe to fail to connect or fail mid-beverage as well.
-
The clips and springs pictured to the side create the tension to hold the tray in place
- See the video below to check the tabs
-
Stretching the springs can be a big help, but proceed with caution as Brian directs.
-
If the issue continues, check the bottom of your machine as in the image beneath the tabs.
- Empty the reservoir, drip tray, and hopper before checking the bottom
- Any damage to the parts in green could cause the drip tray to pop out
- If any of the silicon feet circled in red is missing, this will put the machine off balance

If the drip tray is okay but the service door is popping open during operation, the same steps would apply to ensure the machine is on a flat and level surface. For the service door, you'll also want to check out the magnets that hold the door closed inside the machine, and the small metal plates on your service door that should be attracted by the magnets. If any of these pieces are missing, the service door may not remain closed properly.
