It is important to note that a small amount of steam coming from the vents on the left side of the machine is completely normal. However, if the amount of steam you are seeing is equal to or greater than the amount coming from the wand, or the steam is coming out of the top of the machine near the bypass door, this article will show you how to resolve this.

If the steam is not making it out of either the steam wand OR into the carafe, there is likely a problem somewhere along the water pathway. Descaling is a good thing to do in this case. If it was either the wand OR the carafe connection point that wasn't steaming properly, the blockage may be in one of those parts specifically, but for both, the problem is likely a bit before it makes it to either of those end points.

The boiler spout is a bit different between the 2022 version of the Accademia and the previous version. The color has changed, and the internal components are slightly different, but you're looking to make sure those components are clean, properly oriented, and damage free.

Be sure to get the internal components of the boiler spout reassembled in the correct orientation. Ensure BOTH o-rings on the portion that go back into the machine are present and in tact. These o-rings may remain in the machine after the spout has been removed. Here is how those parts should be reassembled:

Please Note: Either boiler spout will fit your machine and work just fine. The way they make the seal changes between the two machines, but the sizes and functionality are perfectly compatible. The green o-ring and internal components are not replaceable spare parts. If you find it is damaged, then the whole boiler spout will need to be replaced. Failure of normal wear and tear items such as group gaskets, seals, and shower screens are not covered under warranty. Issues due to scale build-up, coffee oil build-up, or lack of maintenance are not covered.
