Gaggia Accademia (2022): No Flow or Slow Flow
Learn what to do if your Gaggia Accademia is showing a "No Flow" error but you are still getting flow, what to do about leaks around your door, and how to troubleshoot the flow meter. A priming request is not a problem unless it keeps popping up repeatedly.
Gaggia Accademia (Pre 2022): No Flow or Slow Flow
With flow issues, especially if they pop up right away when the machine turns on before any water can dispense, the best place to start is with the flow test. This will allow you to test the pumps, and sometimes even just forcing water through the system will prime the machine to the point that it eliminates the error.:
Follow the test instructions, and then see if you can get a steady stream of water to dispense from the steam wand. If you get zeros for your p/s reading, but water is dispensing, it will likely be an issue with the flow meter.
Improper spout placement may result in leaks. Coffee may be forced back into the inside of the door causing damage to electronics.
- The dispensing spout should be flush with the very front of the square arm that it slides onto
- The spout can be fully pushed in or removed entirely
- Anywhere in between fully pushed in and flush can cause problems
With the spout properly aligned or removed, run a blank shot.
- Set your aroma strength to the scoop setting, rather than a bean setting
- Do not put any ground coffee in the bypass chute
- Brew a lungo or other long coffee beverage for the largest volume of rinse water
- Select max volume
- As the water dispenses, spin the knob from side to side breaking up any buildup
- Repeat until the dispensed water is clean and free of any debris
