Learn what to do if your Gaggia Magenta is producing insufficiently hot extractions, but no error code is displayed.

Brewing Temperature Issues

  1. If the machine is producing shots that are hot, but you would like them to be hotter, check the beverage programming menu. Make sure all of the drinks are set to brew at the highest temperature.

  2. The best way to make sure you get the hottest shot possible would be to warm your cup prior to extraction by running some hot water into the cup. The small volume of an espresso shot means the heat can dissipate very rapidly, especially if the cup is well below the temperature of your coffee.

  3. If the shots are completely cold, or the machine is displaying an E10-E15 error code, then there is a boiler heating issue. Try turning off and unplugging the machine, and allow 24-48 hours to power back on to resolve the issue. If the error code continues to appear, a repair is recommended to resolve the issue.

Thermostat or boiler failure will always result in an error code of some kind. If there are no error codes, likely the machine is operating as designed. Menu settings and the aforementioned steps will be the only ways to change the resulting temperature of your beverages.
