This guide explains the location and function of the Gaggia Brera’s key microswitches and sensors, including the service door switch, dreg drawer (dump box) switch, brew unit present switch (coin-slot switch), and the water tank presence sensor. It covers how to safely actuate or “trick” these switches to troubleshoot common issues such as the machine not operating with the door open, confirming the dump box is installed, resetting brew group alignment after incorrect removal (re-homing the brew group drive and checking the brew group flag), and force priming a dry or airlocked pump by bypassing the tank sensor and priming through the inlet neck during the ventilate prompt.
