Learn how to do general maintenance of joystick style steam and hot water taps on ECM and Profitec semi-automatic espresso machine. Included videos show how to fix squeaks, leaks, and droopy wands, as well as how to remove and install the housing of your machine.

Leaks Coming From Between the Valve and Front Panel

If you have a leak coming down the front of the machine from just under the steam or hot water valve, there is a problem with an O-ring. They are accessible from the back of the valve and need to be removed from the machine to be accessed.

For information on this process, follow the instructions in step 5 "Rear of Valve Service (10:05)" of the "ECM Synchronika: Servicing Steam and Hot Water Valves" video below. Parts information can be found at the end of this article.

More information on rebuild kits can also be found in our "E61 Lever Squeaks or is Hard to Move" support article.
