Rocket Bicocca: How to Remove and Replace Housing
This article will guide you through the process of safely removing and replacing the top and side panels on your Rocket Bicocca espresso machine. This is useful for general maintenance, cleaning, or internal inspection.
Technical Skills:
You should be comfortable handling basic tools and working carefully around machine components.
Tools Needed
-
3 mm or 1/8 inch Allen wrench
Step-by-Step Instructions
Removing the Top Panel
-
Using your Allen wrench, remove the four inner screws located on the top panel. There are two screws on each side.
-
Remove the water reservoir cover and take out the water reservoir.
-
Lift the top panel off gently and set it aside.
Removing the Side Panels
-
Identify the hidden screws located at the lower edges of each side panel. Insert your Allen wrench and loosen each screw approximately four to five turns. Note: You do not need to fully remove these screws—they will stop turning when sufficiently loosened.
-
Next, locate and loosen the two screws at the top of each side panel, again without fully removing them.
-
Carefully slide each side panel upward and away from the machine. Take note of the clips that align the side panels with the machine chassis.
Replacing the Side Panels
-
To reattach each side panel, align the panel’s clips with the corresponding notches on the machine's chassis.
-
Slide the panel downward, ensuring it is properly seated.
-
Secure the panel by first tightening the upper screws, then tightening the hidden lower screws on each side.
Replacing the Top Panel
-
Align the top panel so it fits neatly onto the machine frame.
-
Reinsert and securely tighten the four screws into the inner holes on the top panel.
-
Replace the water reservoir and the reservoir cover.
Friendly Safety Notice
Be careful when removing the side panels. They can come loose suddenly, so always keep one hand on the panel when loosening screws to avoid accidental dropping or damage.
