Owning the Eureka Drogheria MCD4
Eureka’s only high volume grinder, the Drogheria MCD4 impresses with its ability to continuously bulk grind up to 66 pounds an hour. It’s able to handle such volume at the high speed of 1360 RPM due to its powerful 750 watt motor and flat 85mm hardened steel burrs. The Drogheria features Eureka’s patented Stepless Micrometric Regulation System, which allows infinite access and play between the burrs, resulting in consistent grounds for any brew method. Eureka also integrated an ‘Easy Setting’ into the system, which allows you to go from coarse to fine in a single twist of the adjustment knob. So, the Drogheria is a truly all purpose grinder. Although the Drogheria doesn’t have an integrated portaholder, it can be used to dispense grounds into a portafilter. Though, where it really shines is in grinding large amounts straight into bags, made simple by the integrated clip which easily holds any bag or container into place for no-mess dispensing. This grinder would be right at home in any bustling cafe or roastery, where it's necessary to grind large amounts of coffee for customers every day.
Using the Drogheria couldn’t be easier. Its simple on/off operation and easy adjustment means there’s basically no training necessary. One of the features on the Drogheria that we’re as equally excited about as we are intrigued, is the excitingly named Blow Up System. This system is designed to remove all grinds from the Drogheria, making it a zero retention grinder. This is done by introducing an air flow mechanism into the grinding chamber. Not only does this cut down on waste, it ensures nary a stale ground will be dispensed for the freshest taste imaginable. This makes already easy cleaning even easier. Since adjustments are made using the bottom burr, the top burr can be removed for cleaning without affecting the grind setting. So, you can go immediately back to grinding after giving the Drogheria a little spruce, if need be. This zero retention grinder is an impressive addition to any cafe for lightning quick bulk grinding.
