ImpressTM Puck System
This innovative system couples assisted 22lb tamping with intelligent dosing to help correct mistakes in puck prep to ensure the the next shot is even more precise.
Breville’s Barista Touch Impress is like having your very own barista coach at home. The redesigned, full-color touchscreen gives step-by-step guidance for making all of your favorite espresso drinks, from grinding beans to pulling shots to frothing milk. You do all of your brewing through the touchscreen, so there are no buttons to press other than the on/off switch. Breville’s ThermoJetTM heating system heats to extraction temperature in just 3 seconds, so you can brew at a moment’s notice.
The ImpressTM puck system grinds a measured dose of beans directly from the 12oz hopper based on your input and automatically presses the grounds into a precise puck using 22lbs of tamping force—it even adds a 7° twist resulting in perfect espresso pucks in your portafilter every time. The portafilter locks into the conical burr grinder for hands (and mess) free grinding.
Once your puck is ready, the Barista Touch Impress brews espresso to your liking with 9 bar pressure and 200°F extraction temperatures. It comes preset with 7 different automatic espresso beverages with the capacity to create, save, and name up to 8 more customized drinks. With a hefty 67.6 oz water reservoir, you can brew to your heart’s content without refilling.
When it comes to milk frothing, the Barista Touch Impress has you covered. The automatic steam wand froths milk automatically between 104°F to 158°F with 8 texture settings depending on your taste. It produces both froth and microfoam, perfect for pouring latte art. The Auto MilQTM system also features three alternative milk settings, so you can get the same silky microfoam using almond, oat, or soy milk as you expect from whole milk. Don’t worry: you can still froth manually if you’re looking to practice your barista skills.
Out of the box, you get all the tools you need to start brewing at home, including a 54mm stainless steel portafilter, 480 ml stainless steel frothing pitcher, and a whole battery of cleaning products to keep your machine clean and shiny, just like the day you bought it.
This innovative system couples assisted 22lb tamping with intelligent dosing to help correct mistakes in puck prep to ensure the the next shot is even more precise.
With Auto MilQ even a novice can produce delicious milk drinks with minimal effort. The temperature probe and auto frother work in tandem to texture milk to the perfect consistency and temperature.
With 30 settings and a set of Baratza conical steel burrs, the Barista Touch Impress produces a wide range of grinds suitable for espresso extraction.
For non-dairy drinkers, the Auto MilQ also features three alternative milk settings for almond, oat, and soy milks in order to compensate for the natural differences in each variety.
